Blueberry Smoothie

This smoothie is packed with the power house antioxidant Anthocyanin. Anthocyanin is what gives dark berries and veggies their vibrant colour.
Anthocyanin has a ton of health benefits. First one being its anti cancer effects by interfering with the carcinogenesis process, blocking cell proliferation and tumour growth. Second it is anti-inflammatory. Helping fight current inflammation and supporting your body to respond better to future inflammation. Third it’s been shown to  support cognitive health and improve memory. This is because it reduces the effects of oxidative stress, which is know to accelerate aging!

Serves: 1

  • 1 Banana
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • 1 tsp flax or chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup oat milk
  • 1 tbsp vanilla protein powder
  • Add all ingredients into a high speed blender
  • Pour into a cup and enjoy!
