Beet Hummus

Serves: 6


  • 1 small beet 
  • 1 large garlic clove
  • 1 14oz can chickpeas
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp tahini
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp salt 
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup water


  • Turn oven on to 360 degrees.
  • Cut skins off of the beet. Cut it into four parts. Then wrap it in aluminum foil or parchment paper. Put onto a baking tray and bake for 35 minutes. Until you can easily put a fork through the beet.
  • Now mince the garlic
  • Once the beet is cooked and the garlic is cut up, you can put all ingredients into a high speed blender. Blend until its at your desired consistency. 
  • Taste test to see if you'd like to add more salt. If you do add another 1/2 tsp.
  • Now serve with your favourite veggies or crackers. 
  • What's not used can be stored in the fridge.
